Plain-language privacy

Privacy Policy

We collect what we need to run and improve Hypermaps. We do not sell personal data.

1. Who we are

Hypermaps builds source-linked maps for communities. For privacy questions or requests, use the email address in the footer.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you join early access or complete our research survey, we collect your email address, source page, phone platform, city, intended use, map interests, free-text answers, interview preference and submission timestamps.

Technical information

Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard request data such as IP address, browser or device details, requested pages and timestamps to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the service.

Maps and external services

Loading maps or fonts can send technical request data to CARTO or Google Fonts. Our map tiles use OpenStreetMap-derived data. If you follow our booking link, Cal.com receives information under its own privacy policy.

3. How we use information

  • to operate, secure and troubleshoot Hypermaps;
  • to save early-access and product-research responses;
  • to decide which cities, communities and features to build;
  • to respond to requests and send an interview invitation when you opt in; and
  • to comply with law and protect our users and service.

Where applicable, we rely on your consent for optional interview contact, on our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, and on legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. When information is shared

We use service providers to run Hypermaps, including Vercel for hosting, Neon for database storage, Resend for email, CARTO for map tiles and Google for fonts. They process information for us or when your browser requests their services. Cal.com is separate and only receives information if you visit or book through it.

We may also disclose information when legally required, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction. We do not sell personal information or use it for behavioural advertising.

5. Retention and security

We keep survey and contact information only while it is useful for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. Provider logs follow each provider’s retention settings. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security.

6. International processing

Our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your personal information, or object to certain processing. You can withdraw interview consent at any time and may complain to your local data-protection authority.

We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural tracking. If that changes, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by law.

8. Children and changes

Hypermaps is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. We may update this policy as the service changes; the effective date above shows the latest version.
